The Caran d'Ache Varius Ivanhoe Mechanical Pencil is crafted by Caran d'Ache, the Swiss Maison de Haute Écriture founded in Geneva in 1915. Every Haute Écriture instrument is produced in the company's Geneva workshops under the “Swiss Made” label and assembled by hand.

In its innovative use of chain mail, Caran d'Ache makes the most of the legendary material that once protected medieval knights: woven links of stainless steel with a very pleasant texture in the writer's hand.

A Caran d'Ache icon, the Varius™ Ivanhoe is covered in a unique coat of mail. Made of stainless steel and finely woven, this covering gives the Varius™ Ivanhoe a special touch; it marvelously matches the silver-plated, rhodium-coated finish. The Varius™ Ivanhoe mechanical pencil is equipped with a high-precision mechanism. The quality of the 0.7 mm Graphite leads and the convenience of the replaceable eraser positioned under the push button will be appreciated.
