Christofle Marly Silver-Plated Cake Fork
Christofle Marly Silver-Plated Cake Fork β Silver-Plate Dessert Fork
The Christofle Marly Silver-Plated Cake Fork is crafted by Christofle, the French silversmith founded in Paris in 1830 and celebrated for nearly two centuries of silver craftsmanship.
The silver-plated cake fork in the Marly pattern, partially gilded has a wide edge designed especially for cutting cakes and pies. Marly, named after a no-longer-standing palace built by Louis XIV outside Paris, has been one of the most detailed and ornate patterns in the Christofleβs catalog since it was created in 1897. The fine chasing is an exquisite example of Rocaille with its asymmetrical crawling plant and shell motifs.
A Legacy of French Silversmithing
Every Christofle piece is produced to the exacting standards of the maison's ateliers, where traditional silversmithing techniques meet contemporary design β pieces made to be used, displayed, and passed down.
