The Caran d'Ache Varius China Black Fountain Pen, Silver-Plated, Rhodium-Coated is crafted by Caran d'Ache, the Swiss Maison de Haute Écriture founded in Geneva in 1915. Every Haute Écriture instrument is produced in the company's Geneva workshops under the “Swiss Made” label and assembled by hand.
The Varius Collection

Its body is dressed in Chinese lacquer, a natural product derived from the sap of the Rhus Vernicifera tree, applied coat after coat over twelve days by Caran d'Ache's lacquer masters and framed in silver-plated, rhodium-coated attributes.
