Gien Dominoté
Dominoté pairs two revivals of 18th-century French craft. Antoinette Poisson is a young Paris workshop that brought back 'domino' papers, the small block-printed sheets used for wallpaper and book linings in the 1700s; Gien supplied the scalloped shape from its own archives. The result is a rich mix of shapes and motifs, floral and geometric, printed in the colors of the original papers. It is an unusually versatile pattern that can be mixed piece by piece.
Gien Dominoté is French faience by Gien, made in the town of Gien on the Loire since 1821.
