Gien L'Archipel Sentimental

L'Archipel Sentimental, the 'sentimental archipelago', is the fashion designer and artist Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's collaboration with Gien. The pieces are drawn in one eternal blue, linking the manufactory's past with the present evening's dinner, and the plates are intentionally assorted: in Castelbajac's words each plate is a poem, and each person at the table becomes a fragment of a mosaic that only appears when everyone sits down together. It is a witty, graphic pattern that still respects the hand-decorated faience it is painted on.

Gien L'Archipel Sentimental is French faience by Gien, made in the town of Gien on the Loire since 1821.
