Gien Pivoines

Pivoines, the peony pattern, dates from 1875 and has stayed in the Gien catalogue ever since, which makes it one of the manufactory's true signatures. The decoration is a generous bouquet with large, open petals in warm reds and pinks, painted by hand on the fine white earthenware Gien is known for. It belongs to the house's Prestige range: each piece is finished and signed by an individual painter in the Loire Valley workshop, and some large forms such as the Trévise coupe are issued in numbered limited editions. The same bouquet exists in blue and green versions, Pivoines Bleues and Pivoines Vertes, for anyone who wants to mix the family.

Gien Pivoines are French faience by Gien, made in the town of Gien on the Loire since 1821.
