Gien Poésie
Poésie is Isabelle Barthel's wildflower pattern for Gien. It is drawn like a walk through a summer meadow, and the artist gave every flower, stem and leaf its own shape so the decoration never repeats mechanically, a nod to the attention Gien gives each piece it makes. The palette is soft and cheerful, chosen to suit a table in any month of the year, and it sits comfortably beside the plain Filets or Barthel's other Gien pattern, Provence.
Gien Poésie is French faience by Gien, made in the town of Gien on the Loire since 1821.
