Arte Italica Care Guide
Arte Italica pewter, ceramics and glass are made by hand, so small irregularities are part of each piece's character. Care depends on the material.
Pewter
- Pewter is not dishwasher safe; the dishwasher can discolor it.
- Wash by hand: add a few drops of dish soap to warm water, wipe with a damp microfiber cloth or sponge, rinse off the soap, and dry completely. Don't soak it.
- Pewter tarnishes very slowly and needs little upkeep. To add shine, use a pewter polish and buff with a clean microfiber cloth. Never use silver polish, which can damage the surface.
- Pewter is a soft metal that scratches easily. Keep it away from high heat such as stovetops and ovens, and dust display pieces regularly.
Pewter and glass
- Pieces that combine pewter with glass or crystal, such as the Donatello charger, are hand wash only. Keep them out of the oven, microwave and freezer.
- Wash drinkware one piece at a time and dry it, rather than letting it soak in warm water.
Stoneware
- Bella Bianca, Bella Natale and Firenze stoneware is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.
