L'Objet collections combine fine Limoges porcelain, earthenware, glass and metals, many finished with 24K gold or platinum. With proper care they will last for generations. One rule runs through all of them: avoid abrasive products and citrus-scented soaps or detergents.

White porcelain dinnerware

  • White collections, including Aegean White, Han White, Soie Tressée White, Perlée White, Corde White and Haas Mojave White, are oven, microwave and dishwasher safe. Use a gentle, energy-efficient air-dry cycle, and wash oversized pieces by hand.

Gold, platinum and colored glazes

  • Pieces with gold or platinum accents are not suitable for the microwave.
  • L'Objet allows its gold- and platinum-accented dinnerware in the dishwasher on a gentle air-dry cycle, but hand washing with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive soap is best. Some earthenware pieces with gold or platinum are hand wash only, as their product pages say.
  • Dinnerware with colored glazes is microwave and dishwasher safe on a gentle cycle.
  • Rinse off acidic foods promptly after meals, since they can stain metallic and colored finishes. Don't overload the dishwasher, and stack plates carefully to avoid scratches.

Glassware

  • Hand washing with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive soap is best, especially for colored glass. A gentle, cold or eco dishwasher cycle is also fine.

Metal, cutlery, wood and frames

  • Hollowware and cutlery: wash by hand with a mild, non-citrus dish soap and dry with a soft cloth. Nickel-plated finishes react with acidic foods, which can discolor them.
  • Frames, napkin rings, spice jewels and place card holders are plated in 24K gold or platinum and need no polishing; wipe with a soft, damp cloth as needed.
  • Wood pieces: hand wash in cool water with a non-abrasive soap and a soft sponge, and dry at once. Wood is not dishwasher, oven or microwave safe.
  • Desk and decorative pieces: dust with a soft cloth, and if needed hand wash with a mild, non-citrus soap.

Candles and linens

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. When a candle has burned down completely, run the porcelain vessel under hot water to dissolve the leftover wax, and keep it as a decorative box.
  • Linens: hand wash, or machine wash separately on a cold, delicate cycle with mild detergent; line dry and iron on the reverse side.
