Raynaud Limoges porcelain is made from kaolin, feldspar and quartz fired at a very high temperature. That makes it one of the hardest ceramics and nonporous, so grease and acidic foods can't soak in. Because decorations and firing methods vary between collections, a few rules keep every piece at its best.

Dishwasher

  • All Raynaud collections can go in the dishwasher, as long as the water stays at or below 140°F (60°C) and the detergent is not abrasive. Some pieces carry a lower limit of 122°F (50°C) on their product page.
  • Choose a detergent without caustic soda or chlorine.
  • Don't leave acidic leftovers such as marinades, vinaigrettes or sauces on plates for long before washing.
  • Open the door soon after the program ends to let the steam out.
  • Raynaud still recommends hand washing to keep decorations perfect over time.

Microwave

  • Decorations containing gold or platinum must never go in the microwave.

Everyday care and storage

  • Don't use bleach.
  • Avoid friction between plates, especially when stacking them.
  • Avoid thermal shock, such as moving porcelain straight from the refrigerator to the oven, or back.
