Versace Care Guide
Versace tableware is produced in partnership with Rosenthal, and many designs are rich with gold. Each product page gives that piece's care note: dishwasher safe, dishwasher suitable or hand wash only. The guidance below follows Rosenthal's care advice for porcelain and glass.
Porcelain
- On decorated pieces, the colors are fused into the glaze at very high heat, so pieces marked dishwasher safe or dishwasher suitable can go in the machine.
- Gold and platinum are softer than the glaze and not completely scratch resistant. For elaborate gold decoration, use a gentle cycle no hotter than 131°F (55°C), or wash by hand with a mild detergent and a soft sponge, which is gentlest of all.
- Pieces marked hand wash only should never go in the dishwasher.
- Load the dishwasher so pieces can't knock together; most chips happen while loading and unloading.
Microwave and temperature
- Never microwave a piece with gold or platinum. Use the microwave only for pieces whose product page marks them microwave safe.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes.
Crystal
- Wash crystal by hand, especially glasses with gold or platinum decoration: lukewarm water and a mild dish soap, one glass at a time.
- Dry right away with a soft cloth, and don't twist the stem while polishing.
