Herend Salad Plates

Herend salad plates are hand-painted porcelain, made in Herend, Hungary, where the manufactory has worked since 1826. We carry salad plates in Rothschild Bird (including the blue, green and brown borders), Fruits and Flowers, Printemps, Asian Garden, Antique Iris, Chanticleer, Princess Victoria, Fish Scale and Golden Edge.

Several patterns are painted in a series of different motifs, so a set of salad plates can mix designs within one pattern. Plates are sold individually.

Sizes and shapes

Most Herend salad plates are about 7.5 inches across. The crescent salad plate is a half-moon side plate that sits beside the dinner plate; it is offered in Golden Edge and in several Chinese Bouquet colors.

Colors within a pattern

Many Herend patterns come in several colors: Princess Victoria in light blue, blue, green, dark green, gray, pink and black; Fish Scale in blue, light blue, gray, gold, rust, pink, brown, jade and black; Chinese Bouquet in blue, rust, raspberry, black, black sapphire and multicolor, plus the lighter Chinese Bouquet Garland. That makes it easy to match an existing service or to mix colors across a table.
