Moser crystal is made by hand, and many pieces are decorated with 24-karat gold or platinum. It is made to be used and enjoyed, with a few firm rules.

Washing

  • Wash Moser glasses, vases and other crystal by hand only, never in the dishwasher.
  • Use only gentle cleaning agents; abrasive or aggressive chemicals can damage the crystal.
  • Dry each piece right away with a dish towel and put it away.
  • Don't leave glasses standing upside down on their gold or platinum rims. Long contact with a damp towel can make the precious metal break down and peel.

Heat and cold

  • Moser crystal is not for hot drinks: keep anything you serve at or below 104°F (40°C).
  • Never put it in the microwave or oven.
  • Protect it from sudden temperature changes, such as a trip to the freezer.

Handling and storage

  • Keep crystal away from hard and sharp objects, which can scratch it.
  • The rim is the most fragile part of any glass, so keep glasses from knocking together, in use and in storage.

Gold and platinum

  • Over time, gold and platinum can oxidize. This is natural and not a sign of poor quality; remove it with a polishing product made for precious metals.
