Saint-Louis Folia Water Glass #2 – French crystal water glass
The Saint-Louis Folia Water Glass #2 is a crystal water glass by Cristallerie Saint-Louis, the French crystal manufacture founded in 1586 in Saint-Louis-lès-Bitche, in the Moselle region of France, where its crystal is still mouth-blown and hand-cut.
The water glass #2 is part of a dinner service made up of 11 pieces in clear crystal, with the characteriztic cut starting at the top of the leg and blossoming like a flower on the curve of the gob. An astonishing approach, rooted in a unique aesthetic for Saint-Louis. Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance interprets crystal cutting as a decor of geometric and organic forms. "The factory is a strong, preserved and remote place. I wanted to convey its magic, between fire and cold. The local roots, the durability of know-how, the concentration that reigns there." In homage to the forest that surrounds the Saint-Louis factory and to creative madness, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance imagined the transversal Folia collection, covering all of Saint-Louis' historic universes: the table, the bar, candles, vases and light. With the manufacture, he also explored a new dimension: furniture.
Saint-Louis crystal water glasses are made to be collected glass by glass and matched with the wine glasses and flutes of the same pattern for a complete table setting.
