About the Rambouillet Pattern
Rambouillet was commissioned in 1952 by President Vincent Auriol for the presidential hunting lodge at the Château de Rambouillet, with Jean Bertholle painting the game birds and hunting dogs of the Sologne woods. Contemporary accounts describe presidential dinners served on exactly this pattern.
