The Moser Gema Vase 25.5 cm is a crystal vase from the Moser Gema collection, hand-blown and hand-cut from lead-free crystal at the Moser glassworks in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, where Moser has made crystal since 1857.
A crystal gem based on the harmony of opposites
With Gema’s novel shape and refined optics, the author, Kateřina Doušová, referenced Moser artworks from the 1970s. The unusual contrast of inner and outer lines allows the beauty of underlaid colors to shine bright. The vase was first designed in 2000 and requires approximately 9 pairs of hands to render.

About the Moser Gema collection
These vases have dimensions of 25.5 cm and 13 cm and combine the curved lines of the inner shape with straight lines on the surface, creating an impressive contrast. The colorful layers inside the glass create interesting effects, seeming to approach and recede from the observer. The designer: Kateřina Doušová
Katerina is a Czech designer specializing in product and interior design. She studied architecture and interior design at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design (UMPRUM) in Prague. Besides product design, she focuses on the renovations of historic interiors, for example the well-known Café Louvre in Prague. She has been collaborating with Moser since 1999. She managed to follow up on the successful Moser production from 1970, using traditional Moser glassmaking techniques.
