Discovered during the Absolu exhibition at the Fondation Bernardaud in 2024, Yu Tanaka is a Japanese ceramic artist renowned for her sculptural and poetic approach to stoneware. Captivated by the strength of her universe, we invited her for an exceptional artistic residency within the manufacture, this time working with porcelain. From this encounter were born three original pieces: two vases, directly inspired by Furoshiki, the ancestral Japanese art of fabric folding, which is a recurring theme in her work. This collaboration, remarkable for the complexity of the forms achieved, perfectly embodies our commitment to pushing the boundaries of porcelain.

The Bernardaud Yu Tanaka Zephyr Large Vase Yellow H. 20" is crafted by Bernardaud, the Limoges porcelain house founded in 1863. From its workshops in Limoges, France, Bernardaud has supplied the world's finest tables for more than 160 years.
