Halcyon Days Winnie-the-Pooh "Hundred Acre Wood" Enamel Musical Box - Happy Birthday – English Musical Enamel Box
The Halcyon Days Winnie-the-Pooh "Hundred Acre Wood" Enamel Musical Box - Happy Birthday is a musical enamel box by Halcyon Days, the English luxury house founded in London in 1950.
About the Piece
Celebrate 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh on the 14th of October with this commemorative enamel musical box, featuring E. H. Shepard’s beloved map of the Hundred Acre Wood.
Originally created for the first edition of A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh, published in October 1926, the enchanting map welcomed readers into the world of Pooh and his friends. Its charming details include Pooh Bear’s house, Eeyore’s Gloomy Place and the spot “where the Woozle wasn’t”, alongside Shepard’s playful spellings and childlike annotations.
Meticulously handcrafted and painted by skilled artisans, the box is encircled by delightful scenes from the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories. The box then opens to play the familiar melody of “Happy Birthday”, specially chosen to celebrate this much-loved story’s centenary. The inside lid reveals a commemorative inscription marking 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh, accompanied by Pooh and his friends.
